Update lists and versions
Compare a replacement file, apply an intentional change, and inspect the resulting list version.
Open Own lists → Imported lists and find the existing list. Use its row menu’s Update from file action. The list must be active and not currently importing.
Compare the replacement
- Choose the new file for this list and select Compare.
- If the name column cannot be identified, select the correct column from the offered headers and compare again.
- Inspect counts and samples for added, removed, changed, and unchanged entries. Check skipped, repeated, and rejected rows, plus mapped columns missing from the new file.
- Confirm that the preview describes the full intended replacement.
- Select Apply changes only after reviewing that effect, or Discard to abandon the comparison.
The file is the whole replacement list, not an append-only supplement. Missing rows can be deactivated. A file containing only a few corrections can therefore remove the rest of the active content.
Verify the new version
Inspect the returned version and entry counts. Removed entries are retained inactive for history. Open Versions and changes to follow imports, updates, and snapshots. Snapshot now, when available, records the current list state; it does not retrieve a new external source file.
The original-file download refers to the last uploaded file after an update. Entry export can include both active and inactive records, so inspect status before using that file elsewhere.
Activation is consequential
Turning the list off removes its active contribution to subsequent screening. Read the confirmation. Re-enabling it restores the entries switched off with the list; entries removed by an update or deactivated individually remain inactive. Check the resulting entries and validity dates before relying on the next screening. The switch does not roll back a list version.
Handle a refused preview
An expired preview or a list changed by someone else requires a fresh comparison. Correct invalid mappings or a file without valid named rows before trying again. Do not interpret a refused application as a successful update. List changes do not automatically rewrite earlier screening results; follow the appropriate new-check process.
